Workshop on Human Resource Management Practices at Public Sector of Pakistan for Civil Officers, Establishment Division, Management Services Wing, Federal Government of Pakistan (22nd -24th October 2018)
Establishment Division – Management Services Wing, Federal Government of Pakistan in collaboration with Human Resource Development Center (HRDC) at Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS), University of the Punjab conducted a three day workshop on Human Resource Management Practices at Public Sector of Pakistan. The workshop was inaugurated with warm welcome notes by the Director IAS & Dean FEMS, Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen and by the Director Establishment Division – Management Services Wing, Mr. Atif Zulfiqar. The training workshop was attended by 25 officers of grade 17 to 19.
Course participants went through outstanding experience at the workshop with eminent speakers including Mr. Azhar Bilal, a seasoned HR professional having enriched HR experience with multinationals, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Randhawa, Certified HR Professional, Mr. Qazi Afaq, member Federal Service Tribunal/CSP Officer, Dr. Sohail Ahmad – Director Partnerships and Alliances and Professor of Practice at UMT, Mr. Sohail Rizvi, certified Career Coach and senior Certified Professional Trainer and Mr. Shafiq Hussain Bukhari, former civil servant and Ex-Chief Instructor of National Institute of Management. The topics covered were; Introduction to HRM, Recruitment & Selection, Human Resource Planning & Development, Capacity building, and Performance Appraisal in the light of Public Sector practices and procedures.
Three day training workshop provided a wonderful social networking opportunity for all the officers, as well as a tremendous learning opportunity in the finest educational environment at University of the Punjab. IAS, being the pioneer institution of Public Administration in the country, has been conducting the workshops for government officials since last many years to promote linkages among the academia, public sector organizations and to bridge the gap between theory & practice through faculty & trainers exchange. Faculty & students also benefitted from the sessions.
The closing remarks were shared by Mr. Tariq Faheem Sheikh, Director General, Establishment Division – Management Services Wing, Federal Government of Pakistan. Mr. Tariq Faheem congratulated the participants on completion of their learning program and admired the collaboration among two institutes; IAS – Establishment Division (Management Services Wing). Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen advised participants to practice the learning of program in their daily work and life. Efforts of the coordinating team including Ms. Zulaikha Mehmood, and Mr. Ijaz Bhatti- were admired by all. The workshop was concluded on the certificate distribution ceremony along with expressions sharing by participants.
