Guest Speakers Mr. Sohail Ahmad- a senior bureaucrat (retd.), currently serving University of Management and Technology (UMT) as Professor of Practice and Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Khan Sumbal- seasoned bureaucrat currently working as Director General National Institute of Management (NIM) were invited by Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS) as guest speakers for PhD Governance course on 7th Jan 2019 and 10th Jan 2019 respectively.
These sessions were attended by PhD scholars, various faculty members including Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen (Dean-FEMS & Director-IAS), Mr Muhammad Zahid (Assistant Professor), Dr. Sobia Khurram (Assistant Professor) and Mr. Mubeen Khalid (Assistant Professor).
Dr. Sobia Khurram introduced the honorable guests to the participants. As the title of the PhD course “Governance Context of Public Sector Organizations in Pakistan” suggests, the focus of these guest lectures was to provide participants with insights about current trends and governance issues faced by various stakeholders in specific context of Pakistan. Furthermore, these sessions were also a contribution to Annual Curriculum Reviews being conducted at IAS in order to update the curriculum in the light of rapidly changing public sector. The sessions ended with a note of thanks from Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen.
