Human Resource Development Center (HRDC) at Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS) has organized a four day Faculty Orientation Program from 8th -11th May 2017 for 35 newly inducted faculty members from three campuses of University of the Punjab including Gujranwala, Jehlum and Quad-e-Azam campus. The program was started with recitation of verses from Holy Quran followed by Welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen – Dean Faculty of Economics & Management Sciences (FEMS) and Director Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS). Dr. Nasira Jabeen shared in her speech that the faculty orientation program is an annual feature of HRDC, IAS since year 2011. She shared the contents of the program where number of facilitators are engaged for various sessions including curriculum design & development, academic writing, effective teaching techniques and use of digital tools, classroom management with special focus on diversity and inclusiveness, micro teaching sessions and Learning Management system (LMS).
Dr. Taqi Zahid Butt – Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology and Acting Vice Chancellor graced the occasion with his presence. Dr. Butt shared in his speech the objectives of the program that are to equip the faculty members with necessary knowledge, skills and abilities and also to develop understating of university culture and governance structure. He appreciated Dr. Naisra Jabeen and her team in doing the efforts towards designing and conducting the orientation program. Dr. Khalid Khan – Registrar PU was also present at the opening ceremony. After a detailed introduction of all the participating faculty members, Prof. Jabeen thanked Dr. Taqi Zahid Butt and Dr. Khalid Khan for joining and presented them with bouquet of flowers and IAS souvenirs as a token of respect on behalf of whole team.
