We know Professor Paul Verweel for the last 15 years since his first visit to Pakistan in 2003. Paul was a wonderful human being, sincere friend and inspiring professional. He was very passionate about touching human lives and making a difference across different cultures and societies. He was very bold and creative while helping his international students in their quest for professional development. We personally experienced his firmness and commitment while making academic collaboration with our institute- Institute of Administrative Sciences. Despite all institutional difficulties on both sides, he managed to help our several faculty members in completing PhD under his able supervision. He has also been instrumental in appointment of Dr. Nasira Jabeen as prince Claus Professor 2006- 07. His meritorious services in this regard will be remembered and cherished for ever. We at the Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS), University of the Punjab, Pakistan send our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on this irreparable loss and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Paul will live in the memory of his students, colleagues and friends with great love and respect. May he rest in peace!!
