Our PhD Program offers specialist opportunities for PhD students through the delivery of integrated and tailored high-level research and skills training. The program provides cutting edge doctoral study courses, combined with a supportive and exciting work environment. The content and design of the program is informed by current state-of-the-art research, and is at par with international PhD Programs. Our students include those who have excelled academically and the natural next step of their journey is a research degree. Program Details
Every PhD candidate will create a singular piece of research that will make a significant contribution to personal and career development and the general field of study. PhD candidates pursue original research with the goal of making a significant contribution to knowledge in, and understanding of their chosen field.

Learning outcomes
By successfully undertaking a PhD in Administrative Sciences (Management), you will be able to:
pursue original research, making a significant contribution to knowledge in or understanding of the field of study;
relate particular research projects to the general body of knowledge in the field;
present the results of the research in a critical and scholarly way; and
produce material worthy of publication in major international and national research journals.
The program is characterized by its rigorous analytical approach based on a combination of methods and insights drawn from organization theory, organizational behaviour, public administration, and social sciences’ theories. The program is designed to develop the content knowledge and methodological skills necessary to become a successful and productive researcher.
Entry Requirement
Entrance to the PhD Program is highly competitive and requires that the applicants should have an MS/MPhil/MPA (18 years’ education) or any other relevant management degree (18 years) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00. The applicant should qualify the IAS PhD Admission test, submit a brief research proposal indicating area of research interest, and qualify the interview in order to be selected to the PhD Program.
Admission Test
The admission test comprises of essay-type (subjective) questions that will test your analytical writing skills in the following areas:
- Research Methods
- Management
- Public Administration
- Organizational Theory & BehaviourThe test will also have a section similar to GRE Verbal Reasoning Section having multiple choice questions.
Research Proposal
The applicants qualifying the PhD Admission Test will be asked to submit a research proposal of 2,000 to 3,000 words in which you clearly explain your research problem, objectives and why the research is important. A research proposal or plan helps to assess both your suitability for a research degree and whether doctoral faculty can offer you supervision. The proposal should:
have a title;
explain the particular topic or question which you wish to study;
briefly summarize existing research on the topic, making reference to publications as appropriate;
give a clear outline of the research you intend to do; and
be approximately 2,000 to 3,000 words in length
How to apply
Admissions to the PhD Program are advertised in December-January every year. The university announces the commencement of admission in leading daily newspapers. Admission forms and Prospectus during this time will be available from the institute.

Structure
The program is characterized by its rigorous analytical approach based on a combination of methods and insights drawn from organization theory, organizational behaviour, public administration, and social sciences’ theories. The program is designed to develop the content knowledge and methodological skills necessary to become a successful and productive researcher.
After successful completion of their coursework, PhD students are required to pass a comprehensive Examination (written), before submitting the synopsis/research work.
After passing the comprehensive examination, a PhD Student is required to submit synopsis within six months of completing their coursework. The synopsis will be submitted to Departmental Doctoral Program Committee (DDPC) for onward submission to Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB), subject to DDPC approval.

Facilities and Resources
PhD have access to a dedicated PhD Syndicate room with networked PCs, Wi-Fi network and access to HEC and PU’s digital library resources. A dedicated computer lab for postgraduate research students has also been set up that has sophisticated state-of-the-art applications installed to facilitate students in their research journey. Students also have access to the University’s Main Library and Computer Labs located at various locations across the Campus.
Credit-Hours
As per DPCC rules and regulations, a minimum of 18 credit hours of coursework is required to be completed over two semesters and a period of one year. The following courses will be offered during Year 1 (Coursework) to PhD Students:
